Was actually my 2nd car. Cheap to buy, cheap on gas, cheap to insure, parts are cheap, easy to work on, reliable. It's also slow and forgiving enough that you can pretend you're a rally driver on some winding back roads without too big a risk of killing youself. The manual transmission on those is suprisingly pretty

It's even more fun when you happen to own one of those specialty vehicles and one of the imposters meets you at a cars and coffee. "You modified yours right ? My SVT doesn't sit that low.", "That exhaust is not stock, mine doesn't make that noise.", and the best one " NICE BBK !!".

Me neither. The GT-R has always been about introducing cutting edge technology at a relatively affordable price. Back when the R32 came out, ABS was still a big thing, let alone and ABS system that was tuned for maximum performance rather than safety. Let alone the ATTESA E-TS system. The R32 was also considered too

YES !
5 years ago, my parent's neighbour selled used cars. One of his friends/investors owned a yellow Beat ver. Z. It is AWESOME. Never got around asking for a ride though. I would just stand still and stare when it was going down the street.

Back in 1993-1995, my aunt's now ex-husband had one of those. Black. With a manual transmission. It was the first relatively quick car I ever rode in. I still remember the noise it made approcahing red-line. This car is probably a big part why I'm a Jalop today.

My thoughts. 180hp/200lbs-ft seems a bit anemic for a car the size of the new series 3 BMW. What's the wet weight on those ?

That said, it is most likely a blast on a winding road.

So it's basically like the old PGR games ?

You know you can't go wrong with an album title like "King of the road".

I'm in class, haven't read the whole article. All that I can think about right now is "OMG !! That light integration is AWESOME."

The rotary IS more compact though, so it's easier to center that weight.

peekaboo.

"engine lid all banged up"

Who needs an engine lid anyway.

I don't know, only played the second one. And I was not a kid anymore then. Was the Checker Marathon featured in those games ?

Maybe I just played too much Twisted Metal as a kid...

An LS1 is 409 lbs out of the crate.
A similarly dressed 20b + turbo was 561 lbs. I'm guessing a 13b would be around 385.

Not to mention current aluminum block piston engines aren't much heavier (if not lighter) than rotaries.

That would be badass. With a high strung NA engine with ITB's. Yes please.

Just saw the update. That is awesome.

The problem with the rotary nowadays is emmissions and fuel consumption. As much as I hate the rotary being phased out, with current regulations, it is most likely not worth to continue pursuing development of the rotary engine.
