My big issues with the recent string of X-movies is that I don’t care about the characters outside Xavier and Magneto. As Charles notes, basically all the X-Men get swapped in and out every movie and get almost no actual character progression or arc.

This isn’t too surprising. It seems that main characters endings are all essentially what Martin planned. The problem is that the context matters and with how rushed it all was, most of it felt jarring and unearned.

I think you bring up an interesting point. Historian Kevin Kruse (in addition to dunking on Dinesh D’Souza with regularity) has a pretty good thread on public opinion as it relates to impeachment.
