Let’s not forget that on the whole baseball players also make way more money than football players. Just look at veteran minimums. If we assume his ability gets him on a roster in either sport considering his pedigree, I don’t see how baseball isn’t the most lucrative and the safest decision.

Yeah, Ovechkin is without question one of the 5 greatest goal scorers the game has ever seen. He is second only to Gretzky in adjusted goal scoring (per the article the other day) and in a time when goal totals have fluctuated wildly year to year, he’s been the constant.
