The game will actually have a game mode for both local and online play which will only consist of that and will rely a lot more on the type of shots you are making to counter your opponents. No time slowing and specials shots and what not. Kinda lame this article didn’t mention anything about that

One on one with no items is the most sterile and boring way to play Smash. The game is made to be played with all the crazy items on the strange interfering stages by 4 people at the same time. The game is a Chaos simulator and that’s why it’s fun
