My mom worked for Northwest Airlines growing up so I could fly for pennies until I was out of college. I can't believe my parents actually allowed this but once I flew to Indiana when I was in high school to meet a guy I had been chatting with on AOL for a while. I was 17 and pretty much was only interested in

Having dated a republican at one point, dying alone doesn't seem so terrible now.

That is what I thought but the LXA's I've known had pride in the non-hazing rule. I do know Triangles lost their national charter at my school for some kind of activity but it was after my time so no clue what it was.

We looked at women who were generally pleasant to be around. My sorority was super low key, not at all like the stereotypes. We had a few women who were the catty, backstabbers but they just mostly hung out with themselves while the rest of us drank beer and played video games.

Someone correct me if I am wrong here but I didn't think Lamda Chi Alpha even did hazing in their pledge process. A lot of the Greeks in other fraternities at my school would mock them(along with Delta Upsilon) for being a non-hazing frat since apparently that meant they weren't real men or something.

Not sure how it works at this school but at mine if an organization got into trouble for anything, the school would basically put it on probation and they weren't allowed to participate in any events, legit rushes, etc. After some time my school would review their status and determine if they could come of probation.

Brilliant. Not sure if this counts but whenever I read stories like this I am reminded of working at Petco. We had bags of frozen mice and rats that all had 'Not for human consumption' branded on them. Because apparently people need a little reminder that they should not really eat something meant for lizards.

Not the only one. My sister just had a baby and it looks like a small Captain Picard to me. I am definitely not melting into a pile of 'awww'.

Thank god for resting 'I'll stab you' face.

Yeah the owners' douchebaggery is why I haven't eaten there in years. Pisses off the husband since he loves JJ's but I give zero fucks.

In college I brought my cat home with me over spring break. She was small and curious, tended to get into everything. Well one night at around midnight I hear a commotion from the basement and this gutteral growl. Fearing some wild animal had gotten in some how and was in a battle with my cat. I head down the

One morning during my stint at Petco I started my daily chore of cleaning out the hamster cage and noticed blood on some of the cedar. Soon after I found a half eaten hamster. Kind of change my opinion on those little creatures.

This is my sister's story but I wanted to share her crazy with people.

Try to stay ambitious. If you finish a project fast, ask for another one. I find the people who take more time than needed on projects have a lot less work that is given to them over time. Also, try to find a mentor if you haven't already. Being able to work with someone who has a lot of experience is an

I've got a story about being told my place before at work (I actually have a lot of stories, 10 years at an engineer company will do that but I digress).

Northwest Airlines used to give you special passes (upgraded your standby pass to a real one) if you didn't call in sick that whole year. My mom got one every year for like a decade. There were times where she had some super infectious stuff and she'd still go in. I love her to death but it bothered me that she

I nominate all my former roommates from my 3rd year in college.

I work in a lab environment so our dress/show rules are for safety but we still have sexist flavor thrown in. For instance, we had one mechanic try to get tank tops banned for 'safety' issues yet sleeveless or cutoff tees for men were still allowed. He also had issues with long hair yet there were several male

I miss the bucket of chocolate chip cookies. Reading this makes me seriously consider going back to visit for the fair. And my sister having a child but really. Fair.

Better add to that confidence hurdle is having your designs (for engineers anyway) checked 4x as much as your male counterparts. The men I work with never have their designs reviewed the ways mine are. I once had to take pictures and send file data to prove the dimensions my design had were what was specified in the
