If a game can survive for a decade on a paying basis it means the game has done something right to satisfy its customers.

That can also be said toward Everquest and WoW (and many long running MMOs). Even when there's EQ2 people still playing the first one. I bet if Blizzard comes out with WoW replacement there will be a handful of players will stick to WoW.
