An attack/disquisition about immigration would be my guess.
That made me tear up! I don’t like her music, but I root for her. We’re the same age and had our meltdowns around the same time. She seems so sweet.
That’s probably being done intentionally so the ass-grabber’s attorneys can’t downplay the action with softer language.
Her responses to that attorney were awesome. In the NY Times article, it describes this interaction:
This is the best:
My favorite:
Yeah, I’ve never been a huge Taylor Swift fan, but that is a topnotch, A+ answer to a bullshit question. I mean, I’m sure she was prepped for this, but I’d be hard pressed not to stand up and cheer in the courtroom if I’d heard any of these answers in person.
I like that they tried to make the fact that she acted like a professional after the fact some indication that she didn’t mind. Look at the picture. She’s a fucking pro. This guy’s scum.
Mueller’s lawyer M. Gabriel McFarland asked Swift whether she was “critical” of her then bodyguard, Greg Dent, for not intervening. Swift responded, “No, I am critical of your client for sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my bare ass.”
The first couple of milliseconds, I thought it must be a mistake
If McCain’s tumor was causing him cognitive issues, it was before the diagnosis, when he was questioning Comey as if he’d just woken up in Twin Peaks. Not when he clearly knew exactly what he was doing — and to whom — when he turned his thumb down in the healthcare vote.
My bet is that it was bottled in U.S.A. or Mexico.
The Washington post article was great but the comments are completely vile. I’ve never understood how people can be so hatefully deluded.
Fight, flight, or freeze.
Aside from the embarrassment, I’ve also found there’s that frozen feeling of “Huh? Is that happening?” Times that I’ve been messed with that way I’ve rarely reacted in the moment, thinking that maybe I’ve somehow misunderstood what’s happening. Later, I berate myself for not reacting immediately and loudly. I’m no…
What’s commonly referred to as the “fight or flight” response is more accurately termed “fight, flight, or freeze.” Many victims of assault experience a state akin to temporary paralysis called tonic immobility. The “freeze” option is part of a nervous system response over which the victim has virtually no control.
From what I’ve read, she didn’t want this sexual assault to define her or her career, which was basically exploding at the time it happened. It’s hard to rationalize how someone behaves in a situation like that. Her mom said on the stand that Taylor expressed that her first reaction was shame for not calling it out…
If that was a scolding then your parents were very kind, lol.
Because it scares the fuck out of you when a predator does this to you. As soon as she felt powerful enough, she had him removed from the venue.
