Eh, he may not be an intellectual, but no doubt he’s probably pretty smart. He’s a legit “successful business man” opposed to Trump’s bullshit impersonation of one.

Her husband has a personality disorder. Doesn’t make him a bad person, but I doubt she’s onboard with a lot of what he thinks, especially if he’s having an episode.
Unfortunately, a lot of people are simply dumbfucks.
A hybrid between B & C. Trump is an empty vessel. He parrots whoever the last, most convincing person in the room with him was.
It’s also the only major surgery I can think of where the doctor hands you a newborn baby afterwards & expects you to take care of it.
I actually don’t have a problem with prison being punitive for really heinous crimes, although not sure where I stand here. I totally agree that my fellow liberals can be fascinatingly hypocritical in this area though.
As a Houstonian, I’ll tell you the Houston Food Bank is amazing. Volunteered there today. Another great place to give your money to is the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund created by our mayor and run by the Greater Houston Community Foundation https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/
What a gross comment. Cheers!
So glad you know Houston so well because your wife has employees here. You’re obviously a total expert on the city.
I shared above, but a lot of my fellow Houstonian friends have been doing donation drives (including ask for chainsaws, gas, etc to help clean up these areas) and are driving trucks into these towns. There are restaraunts and schools all over town gathering supplies for Rockport, Refugio/Victoria, Beaumont/Port…
I’m a Houstonian. I’ve got friends driving truckloads of supplies as we speak to Refugio/Victoria/El Campo. Tomorrow Beaumont & Port Arthur. A lot of us have family who live or who originally came from those smaller towns.
What an obnoxious comment. Go away.
I don’t disagree with you, I think my point was that those are cities (we most closely resemble LA) that are (over)built on places that they perhaps shouldn’t be. Houston’s lack of strict zoning is a complicated thing, but it’s part of what makes it the open, multi-ethnic, wonderfully bizarre megalopolis that is.
Coalition for the Homeless of Houston will also need a lot of money to deal with this crisis.
Well, there are almost 10,000 flood victims at George R Brown Convention Center & they are the bad asses heading the operations. As a Houstonian, I am grateful that they are caring for my neighbors who have lost everything.
I’m a native Houstonian holed up in my tiny house. My heart is aching. But my beloved hometown isn’t built on plains or grassland. It’s sprawl built on swamp. But before you point fingers, large parts of San Francisco is built on landfill & LA is sprawl built on a fault line.
You are insane. You realize what’s happening is far from over don’t you? This is 2 miles from my house less than 2 hours ago.
I’m making myself crazy responding to these awful people, but I just can’t stop. What people are writing is so hateful & illogical that it makes me sick. But I’m trapped inside with too much damn time on my hands just waiting for more horrible news about my beloved swamp city.
People around me are dying & losing everything & you are talking about derailing conversations. Honestly, as one human to another, you should consider that your ugliest side is showing.
Wrong. See the big blue area. Houston is a city of almost 4 million people and that’s its urban center where most of the people live. Houston is a “majority-minority” city so it’s interesting to watch all you phony so-called liberals get some weird glee in the suffering here. Hmmmmm.
