It’s mostly due to very low voter turnout & a major misinformation campaign spearheaded by one dude, Jared Woodfill. I am angry & disappointed with my native city today, but also annoyed & unsurprised to see so many clueless commented regarding Houston on Gawker & Jezebel, all of whom have the idea that Houston is

You realize Austin is lily white, right? The few brown people (mostly Hispanic, almost no black people remaining in Austin) who haven’t been driven out by gentrification are segregated to the east of I-35. Houston, on the other hand, is the most ethnically diverse city in the U.S. It fucked up by not passing this,

to quote John Nova Lomax “Austin, the city in Texas white people like the most”. It cracks me up when hipsters wax poetic about Austin, where the few brown people left are segregated to the east of I-35. Houston on the other hand, is the most ethnically diverse city in the country & full of authentic culture.

Austin, aka the city in Texas white people like most. Houston really fucked up by failing to pass prop 1 (unfortunately, like many cities, there is extremely low turnout in non-presidential elections) but Houston, unlike lily white, segregated Austin, is legitimately liberal & diverse - actually the most ethnically

“People in that city are kind of dumb”. Which people in particular? You do realize Houston is the 4th largest & most ethnically diverse city in the U.S., right? California fucked up when it passed Prop 8 - did you find all of California dumb & Florida-like when that happened too?

While I've got little doubt this guy is guilty & I hope he spends the rest of his life rotting in prison, the description of him by his defense attorney is the defense attorney doing his job (ie, paint a different narrative than the prosecution intends to).

I'm just glad it's not Francis Bean or Courtney selling it, because I thought that's what it was at first and that would make me sad. . .

The novel actually felt a lot lighter than the show. The first season ran through most of the novel’s storyline (and added quite a bit to it). The second season is totally new territory.

I think it's extremely well done & thought-provoking (actually just provoking all around), but I've only watched the first 2 episodes this season. I keep thinking I'll catch back up, but I just can't stomach it, it's so fucking bleak.

Unfortunately your thinking is too reasonable for some of the commenters here.

I wanted to be one of those awesome horny pregnant ladies, but nope, sex pretty much grossed me out for my entire pregnancy. It sucked.

I’m going to get ripped for this, but oh well, here goes - I can sort of relate to the employee’s apprehension, although I’m not understanding why they called the cops. I used to manage a high end women’s boutique, we started buzzing people in after I was assaulted & robbed one day when I was there alone. I never felt

They are the left's version of Ron Paul enthusiasts. I like Bernie, but it turns me off to him.

They are insane. I’m for Hillary, but that doesn’t mean I hate Bernie Sander’s guts - I actually think he’s pretty great. I don’t understand the need to personally tear her down in order to support him. It's pretty weird. . .

You seem like a dingaling.

Possibly one of those Castro twins? That's my hope/guess.

Regardless of her faults, I have no doubt in her competence & ability to command. I can't say the same for any of her fellow candidates.

That’s really sad. Terrible for her & honestly terrible for him as well, because it’s nice to have a partner that desires you.

Exactly. My parents/dad protected me, as Anna Merlin puts it, without concerns over the state of my hymen. The whole thing just makes my skin crawl.

“You all have housewives as friends who worship their husbands more than you’re comfortable with”. We do???? Actually, I don’t. And what in the hell does this have to do with anything??
