SpaceX decided not to follow through with propellant crossfeed for the Falcon Heavy, at least for the first generation. Recovery of the center core will depend on the needs of the payload. They’ll recover the center core for lighter payloads, but use up all its capacity for heavier ones.

Stage 1 does not make it to orbit. It comes falling back immediately, so landing locations are limited.

Is there a term for deliberately saying something wrong on the internet, knowing that the number of people pointing out your mistake will get you more exposure than if you had said it correctly? Sort of akin to the Streisand effect? I’m not saying that what The Gap is doing here. It just made me wonder.

There have been five at-sea landing attempts (one successful), and one on-land landing (successful). This post counts the 6/28/15 launch that exploded after takeoff as a landing attempt, even though it never got that far, and omits the SES-9 launch.

You are correct that there have been five at-sea landing attempts, but you left out the failed attempt on March 4th of this year. That one “landed hard” on the Atlantic drone ship, but the first stage was returning from such a high altitude and velocity that success was not expected anyway.
