The fact is that American schools have been highly policed starting 10-15 years ago. Behaviour that is normal for kids aged 12 - 17 is now criminalized. It’s pretty obvious that school boards have taken the lazy route, by bringing police in to school, and the police are more than happy to act out their macho tough-guy…

Police are not good tools of discipline at a school. They often cause the situation to escalate instead of calm down. It takes a different skill set to handle discipline and maintaining order in schools. Middle school is rough and trying.
