Is the original Chrono Trigger worth it? How does it stack up against the DS version (remake or port?)

yup weirdo collectors how dare we!

freaking psn! Before it came out on PSN Suikoden II was like 300 buck online. Price dropped a lot. (Suikoden I & II owner)

For the billionths and one time, Kotaku is a blog not a news outlet!

That’s the main issue, load times. Was the PSN version the one with videos sprinkled throughout? I know the PS1 copy had them.

No you cant actually. You can play the same game but its the way it is played is what we look for. I like the feel of having the original cartridge and playing on my SNES controller. So in that respect it is different.

But you don’t have a physical copy of the game. You can’t pick it up and feel it in your hands. The physical copy is also vintage, and works on the original system it was made for.

Chrono Trigger has a horrible port on the PSN store. I can understand any high demand for the SNES copy. I myself want the DS version

If these games are physical and not digital then yeah.. prices sound about right.
Chronic Trigger sounds actually cheaper then what you’d usually find it for.

Going by Ebay/Flea Market prices that game fetches 120$.. boxed around 400-500$.
You laugh at it now but to collectors this shit is treasure and worth it.

If you

$90 for Chrono Trigger is actually a fucking steal. Most Retro Game retailers sell it between $120 - $150.

No need to get on your high horse. Yes the article is interesting and yes we clicked on the link so we also took the time to read it, but his point is still 100% valid. Look at the top of your browser, what does the tab with kotaku opened say? “The Gamer’s Guide”. That’s what it says. There is a number of other Gawker

Christ, what an idiot I am. RIP, indeed. (Commence well deserved dogpile)

His wife shot him. Take the rest of the day off and vow to do better tomorrow.

Who cares? Kotaku is whatever they decide it to be. If they want it to have occasional non gaming discussion on other important subjects featured in it then they’re the bosses.

Terrible. Hamilton was known for his defense and his range but never really had a gun.

The only reason you found out about that is because Kotaku reported it. Other than a brief statement assuring everyone that the game is still in development — not really true, it turns out — Microsoft hasn’t said a word. I’d bet there are tons of people who watched last year’s E3 and still think it’s happening because

Yes, how dare gamers ever see an article that is not directly related to gaming, how dare they have to scroll beyond an article you don’t want to read. More directly, I think it has to do with the fact that Evan has written on the experiences of being a black gamer before, and this is a very troubling time for black

You’re not giving yourself enough credit. Jews comprise even less of the population, and we’ve apparently taken over Hollywood, the banks, and the government!

I’m sure it came in handy.
