There is absolutely and unquestionably a medical benefit - many, actually - of being more flexible. And flexibility can absolutely have the potential to limit or prevent injury - any suggestion otherwise is based on a serious misunderstanding of basic biomechanics. The article doesn’t do a deep dive (no offense), and

For anyone already proficient in pullups, I highly recommend using baseball pull up grips. A lot of companies sell fancy (read expensive) rubber ball grips ranging from $35-60, but just spend $8 at walmart instead and get a couple of baseballs, eye bolts, heavyweight carabiners and straps to use to attach them to a

eat stuff that makes you fart a lot and then do lots of core exercises.

The thing that I absolutely love about grip training is that there are nearly limitless options available, and they can be employed both directly during your primary lift routine (as with DLs), as well as in isolation exercises. I’m glad you mentioned thumbless/suicide grip DLs, because I start my DL routine with them

Out of curiosity, what specific reason compelled you to include snatch-grip DLs in your routine? There’s nothing wrong with them, per se, but all of the issues that you mention about mobility, grip, and discomfort, are going to be exacerbated by that lift much more than a traditional DL. The form required for snatch

I would say approach people rarely and always ask before giving advice. “Would you like help with that?” or “Have you used that before? I can help you figure it out if you like,” goes a long way toward you not looking like a know-it-all jerk and it gives the person a chance to politely say no and get rid of you.

The GOP isn’t even in your self-interest if you *do* make a lot of money, unless you’re 60 years old and are going to be dead within the next two decades, because that’s how long we’ll have until we’ll really start feeling the effects of the Republicans’ insane, self-destructive agenda.

This was incredibly brave. Congratulations and thank you Michelle ❤️🌻

Best line of the night- Women 18-118, when it comes time to vote, please vote in your own self interest. Oh how I wish folks understood that the GOP isn’t in anyone’s self-interest unless you make a lot of money.

Every diet works for some people some of the time. But people’s cultish obsession with any given diet, and their endless defense of its merits is what we’re talking about. Just age old hucksterism.

I prefer to call them “love handles” thank you very much.

I’m gonna combine this with Zercher Squat, so to the uninitiated I’ll look like I have just totally failed at lifting and/or have never seen a barbell before:

The burning sensation means it’s working.

Preemptive not against straps - you made some great statements for them.

Yea, I weigh about what a doctor says I should weigh for my height and I powerlift 5 days a week and have a total of 1120 lbs at the moment. I'm not carrying extra weight and I very rarely if ever tighten my belt down beyond a slight pressure. I know one data point is not a trend but it's still important.

Chalk was a game-changer for me, particularly on dead lifts, and also when I do a body-weight routine with several sets of pull ups, muscle ups, etc. My gym removed the communal chalk bag, but technically they don’t ban anyone from using their own (in a respectful/tidy manner.) I tried the liquid chalk, but it’s not

Chalk helps with grip, but the way that it helps can actually help you build a stronger grip by allowing you to go train longer and hold the bar (or another object) more tightly without providing an artificial support like straps.

The additional grip you get from chalk is primarily because it absorbs moisture and

I am not saying I lift a massive amount of weight, it is quite pedestrian compared to serious lifters but back when I would go heavy I would rep out 405 without much issue. I never found myself to be at risk of shin scrapes. I was definitely not deadlifting wrong, I just didn’t drag the bar up my legs. There were a

It's a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call him a weasel. Sorry, it a weasel.

It’s all going exactly to his master plan!
