You may not be totally wrong, I think a lot of state vehicle codes call those wheels scooters “mopeds,” or at least regulate them the same.

You ban all flights not authorized as commercial flights or military flights. The FAA has a TON of power, and with clear policy and outcome goals, it wouldn’t be hard to just ground all private flights.

Yup, good description of it! It is similar to driving a CVT, but also different. When drive without a “charge” (I believe the car keeps about 20% of the battery charge for hybrid driving, so you’ve never really exhausted the battery) at a steady but sub-highway speed, the engine just sits at a kind-high idle, and

Try the Volt anyways. I have one and love it just because the EV drive train is so smooth and quiet. Really makes my commute more tolerable than when I was doing it in my E46. Plus, you aren’t using other consumables like oil or putting wear and tear on the engine in EV mode. Its energy re-gen is top-notch, too, so

Do you live in a single-family home with a built-in charger? Because people in apartments don’t have that luxury.

Better than the boet.

Yeah but they should be banned in any just society that cares about climate change.

Hydrogen power does offer some interesting advantages over battery EVs. Hydrogen can be made carbon-free by operating plants when renewable energy is available (sunny and/or windy) and idling them when there is no carbon-free electricity. That way, you know you are powering you car with zero-carbon fuel, as opposed to

The ONLY thing I don’t like about this is it feeds the completely baseless, bad-faith arguments that Elizabeth Warren is some kind of Trojan neo-liberal horse and Bernie is the only true progressive in the race.

Not wrong! The Wheels ones (not technically mopeds because no pedals) are so much better than the Lime scooters.

Walking 2 miles sucks. Scooting 2 miles takes 10 minutes and you aren’t covered in sweat. They have their uses.

I think they’ve saves a lot of cars trips in LA. Nobody walks in LA because anywhere you want to go is at least a mile away and it is 98 degrees in October; being able to scoot over there in 5 minutes without breaking a sweat is a great incentive to not drive in LA (which any rational person abhorors).

I’ve seen homeless encampments in LA where one tent will have half a doze of the Wheels bikes lined up next to the entrance, with all sorts of phones and gadgets plugged it. Thanks, venture capital, for the direct transfer of wealth to the homeless!

The footballs were never deflated and were not under the pressure limit when they were checked.

Trump knows exactly what he’s doing here. Now we are all spending time trying to educate people about slavery, while the right crows about Trump opponents “playing the race card” and accusing people of being guilty of being white.

Yeah, its a big goof, but swapping in some new RAM seems like a doable solution. And it isn’t like other car manufacturers haven’t made giant goofs like this before (see: water pump, BMW).

Well, Trump says his approval rating is 50%, which 100% means it is 0% true.

Legit saw one of those in LA marked up $4,000 over MSRP. The only one in stock I could find. Rare as hen’s teeth even in what should be its biggest market.

I saw new ones being sold in SoCal for ~$26k. That’s really not bad!

Its funny that Bernie is basically the standard-bearer for white mediocrity on the left, but nobody brings that up. He’s from goddamn Vermont, and his political effect has been “angry about anything that every happens, thinks he can do it better, has failed for decades to actually do it better, but is famous for
