LeBron James makes tens of millions of dollars and never needs to step foot in China. If the price of getting slightly more millions of dollars from China is actively supporting their attempt to violently crackdown on democratic protesters, then you are not only a coward, but a greedy coward. There is no pretzel logic

Soft Power is real. You don’t need to take a bullet in the face to say “shooting protesters in the face is wrong.”

“Why did you make me hit you?” is a pretty bad look, broseph.

I know, if only I had an international platform as the most famous basketball player in the world who could bend an entire billion dollar enterprise to support emerging democratic movements in Hong Kong. If only!

“I do think that this is more complicated than you’re making it.”

Like trying to get the point across to people that their individual choices matter? Sorry for triggering the unthinking hoards who buy SUVs?

Same, buddy.

I don’t think that a particular demographics shamelessness is a reason not to criticize the thing they should be ashamed of doing. This is a “why not both?” situation.

SUVs weight more than their equivalent car. Moving more mass takes more energy. Not a hard concept, Einstein.

Mandatory Motorcycles.

No. Don’t let people like things that are killing the planet. Your right to swing your fist ends at my nose; your right to enjoy SUVs ends at the tailpipe.

You know the NFL, local politics, Capitalism, and the entire political structure of the United States is terminally fucked when this objectively terrible team move without any redeeming social, economic, or cultural value, that is universally hated by the team, the players, the fans, and the media, nevertheless

The Bolt is a great buy at like $26k, which is what you can get them for with a bit of shopping around.

“A car that gets 260 miles per charge but takes an hour and a half to charge is useless in a country with so much open space to cover.”

This will keep happening until there are consequences. Call your state legislators. Go after their pension funds.

Nah, riding in the rain is generally fine. Just be careful for the first few hours of rain if it hasn’t rained in a long time; that makes the road especially slick. But modern tires are a thing of beauty and being soaked head to toe and not care on a motorcycle is pretty fun.

I remember one great episode with Mellisa Joan Hart going to visit an aunt in the country in the middle of the winter. It was super super cold out, and she was haunted by the ghost of a girl who was left outside and froze to death. Very Wuthering Heights and creepy and gothic, it was good.

Blood on his hands.

Laura, I feel so terrible that your shitheel overbosses won’t even let you all MENTION Splinter’s demise. This is a good subtweet of them.

It does take a ton of energy, but you could build a plant to run off only renewables when available. So its cranking out tons of carbon-free hydrogen when it is sunny or windy, but idles when it is night or calm. Hydrogen then just turns into a convenient energy-storage medium.
