Yes, the Roy Moore lady on CNN was a piece of work.

To this day every time I see something about one of those ultra-patriotic country singers I instantly hear in my head: “Look out moon, America gonna getcha!/Gonna go kaboom, was nice to have metcha/‘cause you don’t mess around, with God’s America!”
I find season 8 fascinating for many reasons (Frank Grimes!), but viewing it through the lens of knowing that the writers thought it would be the last season makes many of the jokes and episodes eerily prescient, e.g., the spin-off showcase, Poochie (especially the last few seconds).
As someone who’s really into that pursuit, I can tell you that actually reading the books can be a less-enjoyable experience. It’s not all bad, but I’d put my personal ratio at 50 percent ‘okay’ reads, 10 percent ‘good to great,” and the remaining 40 percent ‘waste of time.’
When I read that headline for a moment I expected it to read that they’re “thinking about” ending the show... but no.
I’d like to see that just because it would force the right-wing media to turn a blind eye to all that even more than they have. From occasionally listening to talk radio, it’s almost surreal to what extent they won’t acknowledge the white supremacist movement*, even days after Charlottesville.
Whenever I saw Tanya Harding doing those yuk-yuk appearances on those clip shows and making fun of strangers, I was irked. It’s like, the reason you’re “famous” is not very funny, and doesn’t reflect well on you.
Re: problem vs. symptom... Yes, if Donald Trump were to be out of office next week, oh it would be a glorious feeling!, but it wouldn’t change the fact that some 60-million Americans thought he was a suitable choice to run the country, and that at least a third of Americans think he is doing a good job... THAT’S the…
Yeah, just as the media FINALLY seemed to’ve stopped looking for that Trump “pivot,” I think it’s also time to eschew the “reasonable Republican” tag. In the end they’re all gonna go along with Trump.
That “nothingburger” is starting to look like a pretty hearty meal.
What the editor did in changing Trump’s quote follows a pattern I’ve recognized of people censoring/sanitizing/helping-along Trump for, well, most of his life. Tony Schwartz openly admits to doing it with “The Art of the Deal.”
O’Keefe has also admitted outright that he edits the videos of his “stings,” including dialogue. When multiple news outlets have pointed out that this undermines the legitimacy of his stings, he gives some non-answer about how it’s not unusual to edit things for length, etc. (as his flunkie did with the Planned…
Someone made a good point about this “debate”: if you’re in a relationship with a woman, ask her to show you a picture of when she was 14, then decide if the person in that picture looks more like a girl or a woman... better yet, just ask her to remember back on when she was 14, and ask her if she was a girl or a…
Journalists interviewing people like this and pointing out their “manners” or “politeness” is a recurring theme, and an especially annoying one. Jon Ronson has done it, and I was disappointed to see George Saunders (who I consider one of America’s best living writers) flirt with it when he covered Trump rallies.
A total aside, but I recently heard someone make a good point: For those of us on the one side of this debate, we need to stop calling it “gun control” and replace it with “gun safety.”

As the writer alludes to above... I’ve noticed that as the months have gone on, Trump supporters are fucking miserable.
Do steroids not exist anymore?
So, given not only Donald Trump’s comments today but Kellyanne Conway’s comments yesterday (and I haven’t even sampled talk radio this week), it’s official:... To those currently in power, being a liberal/Democrat is now literally worse than being a child molester.
“To children growing up in the ’70s and ’80s, “Charles Manson” was the monster under the bed, a symbol that there were “Bad People” out there who could make you do Bad Things...”
