I am deeply sad that Cracked lost most of their stalwarts and all of their video cast. Modern internet company economics suck.

I miss “peak Swaim”.

Pique?

Because the internet-obsrssed folk obsessed on ASMR in 2012-2013 or so, and it’s been a ‘thing’ since. About 10% of the population gets a positive-ish response from this kind of auditory stimulus (and 10% get a negative one, very similar to the positive one), a kind of tingle-rush down and up the spine. It’s the

My response is that it feels like a nice backrub but people have different responses

Greeting your surgeon with “Fuck you, asshole” really isn’t that good an idea.

Edit: I should really finish reading the article before posting lazy, obvious references

Yeah, I understand that, and my comment shouldn’t have been directed at you but the other commenters above who misread what I initially wrote.

I’m convinced that there are lists printed out in the AVC offices of people to be hated hated or loved unconditionally

Haddish is at that perfect sweet spot of internet celebrity right now where every crazy thing she does makes culture writer-types love her more, so she gets even crazier, and the crazier she gets the more unconditional the love gets. It couldn’t be more obvious that she’s like a couple months from finally doing or

Well, at least it mimics the old Journalism structure of breaking a story and then having several followups over the course of the upcoming weeks.
At least they’ve slowed down the “Trump pronounces Billions with three syllables (like half the country does), what a moron!” articles that cost me more brain cells than

Just because it’s low hanging doesn’t mean it isn’t delicious, delicious, schadenfruit.

That’s a huge stretch to think I’m staking any principle on thinking the Avclub’s endless wash of non-articles about things other people have written about more in depth elsewhere is a ridiculous and cynical offshoot of Gawker-lite bullshit. It’s not as if I’m the only one to have pointed this out numerous times

I meant that they might as well JUST post that link and/or screenshots of her take down, rather than write yet another article about other peoples’ reactions to a book the writer hadn’t read. That’s it. But I get it, that’s what the “news” section is here, so that in itself is a waste of energy. But thanks for the

I’m not pro-Sean Penn (or anti-Haddish); I’m just remarking that there seems to be awful lot of AVC coverage directed at certain famous people more than others.

Or, the consensus on Penn may come from the fact that he is an objectively silly person whose self-regard could power a mid-sized city?

I can see hating Penn. He’s easy to hate. But it’s low hanging fruit. Everyone jumping on this guy’s book just seems kind of a massive waste of energy though. I didn’t know who Haddish was until yesterday, so apparently I’m not the person who should be commenting on any of this though.

Seriously, that Haddish girl is super crazy.

I’m convinced that there are lists printed out in the AVC offices of people to be hated hated or loved unconditionally. It’s the only way to explain the constant slamming of Sean Penn and the constant praising of Tiffany Haddish.

I wasn’t talking about the actual reviews. I was talking about whatever you would call this article and others like itI see everywhere. But it’s probably a stupid gripe for this website.
