That was a fabulous discussion, all.
Plain and simple, Akira the movie is just an opportunity to marvel at Otomo and his animation team's skill. "As a movie," it's just a bunch of stuff, but, my, is it rendered in a flawless way. From Construction Cancellation Order to Combustible, the man has a flawless animation record.
She falls into that category of musicians whom I appreciate as having "cool taste," but whose own act doesn't work when they try to get some of that critical credibility. Example, among many: Jepsen wasted a Danny L. Harle track. https://www.youtube.com/wat… At least Bieber delivered on Diplo's song and, if you listen…
There was a time when mentioning any Canadian music compelled writers to mention Bryan Adams or say, "MOVE OVER, Celine Dion! Canadian music isn't all French-Canadian songbirds."
Do Canadians like the show version of Letterkenny? Can that be our updated-for-the-10s reference?
Those would have been my picks, or an Aisha Devi. Johann Johannsson is absolutely superb, though, and I'm hoping he makes a classic.
I went to college with someone who got hired by Bethesda post-graduation a bit due to his Ivy League computer science degree but mostly due to him writing lore in the Elder Scrolls forums that they ended up using in Skyrim.

You're blowing my mind. Do you have a Medium account that I can follow?
Rote.
(That was a great and largely fair breakdown. Thank you!)
Please leave your weird exegesis out in the future. Thanks.
Please leave education out of it in the future. Thanks.
Both points are very true, and I streamlined it for ease of explanation. If I recall, I think his contributions to XI diminished as the expansions came out, too.
"Yes, I know, distant family member/high school acquaintance/friend-of-a-friend. That is why I don't like it!"
It was very brave of him to debut it the way he did, though. I didn't think the lineup was worth it this year, but my many friends who went, even though who liked it, said the crowd thought, "Um, okay." And that wasn't just the inherent difficulty of playing songs people don't know.
