Have we really turned on Merchant, too? I'm not saying he was "the real brains" behind anything, but surely he's the funniest and most consistent by far?

Give me a Sly Cooper movie any day.

Next on Beyonce's list should be writing an album about having no childhood or normal life experiences, and how that's given her the appearance of being all artifice, no art. But then, bam, the album's awesome, so suck it.

It goes for everyone. Ashley characterized arguably the biggest chronicler of marriage and fidelity in pop culture today struggling with that identifier as "relationship drama." Geeeeeeeeeez. It isn't as if unfaithful spouses and significant others aren't a part of black American womanhood, either, and a lot of the

Anthony picking Strider Hiryu 2 means he continues to win my heart. That's a wonderful mix all around. I couldn't think of any 8-bit generation ones and I don't want to mention Space Quest V again, so:

See, 1 of the good things about that game is that the airship acts as your homebase, making Searching For Friends 1 of the best-ever songs in another category. I'm counting it!

That is very true; the big divide is that we CAN have reasonable discussions on socially responsible culture that won't exist on Slate, Nerdist, your aunt's Facebook feed, et cetera.

This is true; it's a reflection. That said, I do wish there was a token writer with a different perspective (not on, uh, this, but generally). Rabin and Hughes aside, it's typically not overwhelming, but 1 of the reasons that I love The A.V. Club is that it's an atypical site in a dull online pop culture slurry.

Yeah, it's fine, and I don't think it's come at the cost of real content. It's just where The A.V. Club was going anyway, so why not?

In 2008, they let wrestlers support candidates at the conventions in a very generic, "supporting democracy!" way. I was surprised that the conservative side didn't have bigger "gets." http://www.wwe.com/inside/o…

I disagree so much. Are The Revival better suited for a retro gimmick for Raw? Yes. But it is a persona rather than "a fact," like the Ultimate Warrior, Big Boss Man, or the Undertaker.

Keep English singing obnoxiously and get Gotch to brutalize someone, and they'll be fine. Sadly, they're in the NXT category where they haven't gotten to define themselves and crowds are asked just to accept the gimmick.

I'm glad that you acknowledged Cody Rhodes in the miscellany, LaToya. I don't want to take anything away from The Miz; I've come to admire how he gets heat in promos while still making real points and/or moving the story forward, even if he remains a boring wrestler. However, Orton excepted, I think he's the most

Yeah, geez, of all of the complaints to throw at this: immature?

-Pointing out that Luis Fortuno at least tried to do get their finances in order before getting shut down, despite Oliver's sputtering about bonds.
-Pointing out that Last Week Tonight basically paid attention to the tailspin and not the circumstances that led to it, like (arguably) the minimum wage pushing emigration

Alternative opinion: things can be funny without being novel. Plus, like, Kitson's still doing it.

Yeah, I have no idea how it will play for outsiders, but the hardest wall to climb for Bamford fans would be having actors play her parents. Those are 2 perfect choices, and I can't believe my head didn't reject them as replacements for them in real life or Maria's voiced versions of them.

This is true. It's more than a lot of Americans who only watch the Dome Show or the New Japan Cup, but they're not doing a Raw, a Main Event, and 2 house shows every week for 20 years.

Roberts, mid-way through an objectively eloquent, consequential, and lovely speech: "Wrestling ruined my life."
Crowd: "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

There are obviously famous counterexamples, but it is so weird that Japan's style hurts even more, but so many are even WRESTLING.
