Well, isn't Chris Christie good at being an asshole? What is the difference? Serious question. I think it's because his symbolism is identifiably potent in some ways and inscrutably potent in others.

Hm, that makes me wonder about something Alex didn't address in his excellent article, and it does relate to pop culture. I read a lot of tweets saying, "Trump is excellent at getting attention for his narrative. Unfortunately, this is not a very useful skill for the job he wants."

Um, I think 2016 Brazil's just a vision of America under Trump. Enjoy having your top-tier politicians and industry leaders in prison for the next decade!

I mean, it certainly does have a cosmopolitan left bias, mostly because it's good for business to ask the tough questions of the side whose supporters mostly likely do not pay your bills. (Example: Republicans get asked about the most difficult to balance abortion questions all the time: rape and life of the mother.

I loved his story in particular, that a society that cares about and invests in art can enrich itself not just among the "normals" as "appreciation," but can indirectly foster some of the great geniuses of our time.

Did I pick Green from episode 1 and then lord it over classmates when my team picked up the most victories, as if this were real sports? It's hard to say. But I did have 1 of them fake-curse me out when I went as Green Monkeys 1 Halloween and posted it on Facebook.

If he gets sent home or fired, he probably stops dating Emma. That's all the motivation a man needs!

"I remember being flabbergasted and somewhat infuriated when Thomas, after fighting to strip every race based remedy from the books,"

I'm from Wisconsin Rapids, so if you go north 30 miles, you end up hearing the type of accents passingly like those in Fargo that the general populace knows.

Yeah, I can only assume Dennis doesn't watch international soccer.

New idea: Michael Palin and Conan O'Brien do a joint travel show and make everybody around the world happy. You have Palin who's a bit more respectful and adventurous, and O'Brien as the repressed, uncomfortable dork who's the better people person.

Corden has always been the exact same; it's just that here, far fewer people know why he exists in the 1st place. Imagine if the U.K. didn't know what Saturday Night Live was, and then Fallon got a panel or talk show there and capped Stephen Fry's punchlines with, "Yeah, George Eliot, he's great."

It's been in my 5 favorite shows every year it's aired, Rob.

Unfortunately not, Burl!

That makes me happy to read it. The only problem is that he's not demonstrated the ability to unite, only to give it good to both sides in a generally liberty-supporting way. In other words, I hope he's senator for life as a safeguard to the still-growing power of the presidency.

Thanks! I have enjoyed some of the political talk here, just because there is a gradient when it comes to the liberal end of the spectrum, and seeing the mini-clashes helps educate me about what matters to people and how that manifests on the issues. I'd definitely include you among those who really give it thought,

http://www.bloombergview.co… Megan McArdle has a nice round-up of people, and I was surprised that their only primary reason I shared was, "He is unreliable."

I hate to bring it up even, but…this reboot movie may be having it both ways. It's reanimating the old while feinting about the new. I know, I know. I almost didn't want to SUGGEST that the way this movie and other reboots are marketed were lowest common denominator.
