He does realize that for the Union slavery wasn’t the reason to go to war, right? Like a lot of the Union army wasn’t willing to fight to free slaves (tons were unhappy with the emancipation proclamation), there were draft riots.

I suppose the idea that they already got reparations in the terms of an Army Salary, lifetime pension and death benefits doesn’t count? I mean Irene Triplett was collecting a Civil War soldiers pension until 2020.
