A few thoughts on the finale:
It is incredibly cheap and nearly every item on their menu can be easily made vegetarian. I don’t know of any other fast food place that offers that.
Seriously? The ending is too predictable. We are going to pan away from John looking into a snowglobe and realizing the whole series of events was all in his imagination.
If I had to make a prediction, I’d guess that, somehow, Barry dies by John’s hands. Possibly, Sally as well.
Well, we lost ‘Best in Dough’, the competitive pizza making show, and ‘Best in Snow’, the competitive snow sculpture show, but I have high hopes for ‘Best in Joe’, the competitive coffee brewing show, and ‘Best in Blow’, the competitive cocaine smuggling show.
Dal tadka is one of the best foods out there. Yum.
Agreed on all counts but screw you (joking) for reminding me of Dancer in the Dark. That movie messed with my head.
Bribe a worker at McDonald’s......Quarter Pounder (or Double) with cheese, bacon, grilled onions, and hot mustard. You’re welcome.
Breaking The Waves, another Von Trier film, had that effect on me. Messed me up for a full day. Superb movie, but never again.....
I will second Dancer in the Dark. That ending was haunting.
Honestly Crash kinda surprises me. Like yeah it’s very twisted and dark and weird but not in a way that’s actively depressing or grueling- it’s more just calmly fascinated with this culture of obsessives who themselves are fascinated in ways they don’t understand. I didn’t find it hard to watch at all.
Dancer in the Dark gutted me. I spent the next 2-3 hours just walking around my neighborhood smoking in silence.
American History X is arguably more important now than when it came out.
I felt this way about Pan’s Labyrinth. Gorgeously shot, dark as HELL, even more viscerally violent than I was expecting. Glad I saw it, never again.
disagree with bad lieutenant. i’ve rewatched that a lot. chris russo is low key great in that movie.
I work at a law school. Some of the nicest students are in the Federalist Society. It really hits home the difference between niceness and kindness. And how endearing or charming people who are capable of eliciting sympathy are really the most dangerous people you can know because usually the sympathy isn’t unearned…
LOVE Disintegration (song)
“The doubling of characters and resetting identities through a filter of filth and decay evokes Twin Peaks’ final episode”
Having workers serve you instead of getting the food yourself is a big improvement. I haven’t been in years and years (still don’t plan to), but probably the worst thing about buffet places like GC is how messy things got. People are fucking lazyass slobs. Food being spilt all over the buffet, getting mixed in with…
