Not only did I feel the exact same way when I read the headline, I go through a similar period of confusion when I read about beefs between musicians. 

Maybe. But only because they’re far worse than anything that went down between Wilde and Pugh. Women are judged more harshly than men, including by women, but women don’t like to admit to it either.

If the worst you can say about a person in a particular situation is “Some combo of naivete and greed made her fall for an obvious fraudster,” I’m personally still going to feel some sympathy for that person (I don’t really care much about misuse of company credit cards, that’s between her and the company).

On top of that, the Hornet is unlikely to poach Tonale sales. The number of (non-enthusiast) people considering a Dodge who would ALSO consider an Alfa Romeo are probably in the single digits.

I think its worth pointing out that there is a difference between being coded as something because of the way the story frames them versus the way they are translated and voiced. (It looks like people have mentioned this in the thread, but I want to sound smart too.)

Not having a permanent address closes a lot of doors, “a year or two of rent” is pretty major.

The main difficulty with getting yourself out of being homeless is having an address, having clean clothes, and being able to shower and groom yourself. $10k would give someone the chance to do all three for the 3-6 months it would take to find a new job. Most homeless are not chronic so.
