It’s so close to the OT/PT era that nothing anyone does matters. Nothing galaxy-changing can happen. Nothing drastic can change or happen to the Jedi and almost all of the characters have no effect on the OT/PT. There’s just no narrative heft to it for me.

Something like Mando/Book of Boba is different because the ST

I think the people who thought it was underpowered never actually drove one and just commented based on how much horsepower they THINK they need in order to have fun. This is why we can’t have nice things and have 800hp Dodge Chargers instead.

I believe the i8 fell into a trap that many a young fellow has dreampt up: “Why don’t they just make a normal car that looks like a supercar?”

I love the i8. It is one of the few *automatic* cars I would consider. But it cost too much for what it offered.

Wait...did a reader really confuse Cutlass, as in a 17th century sword and cutlet, as in a tasty pork or chicken preparation?

Yet you never see, as I said above, these celebrities run for any smaller-scale governmental position.

Woah woah. J Wall most def didn’t go to Duke, he went to UK and did what many other UK players did- choked in the tourney.

Black Bruce Wayne vs poor Bruce Wayne would be an interesting litmus test, I think. You’re completely correct, of course, in that it’s the Wayne fortune that allows for the genesis of Batman. One could argue that Batman doesn’t always need to be wealthy to be Batman, but Bruce Wayne definitely needed to be wealthy to b

She was there on behalf of a sponsor. This is a near certainty. Someone pointed out which one on the F1 subreddit but I don’t care enough to remember the name of it. Some influencer thing.

My dear boy, why don’t you just try acting?

I think everything you said makes sense, but this in particular resonates:

You have a pretty mercantile perspective on these various relationships—but I’m not gonna say I necessarily think you’re wrong. I consider myself a pretty romantic guy, but I can’t imagine what billions of dollars would do to me (other than make me a yacht owner many times over.)

The point of all that wasn’t to have a nice lunch and leisurely stroll, it was to get them together alone away from their respective parties to talk to each other and to wind them up to do what he wanted for them. They got lost out there and wandered around on purpose in order to prolong negotiations.

I was in IDF for 3 years - not anything combat-related, mostly fixing various communication devices. I probably did the same basic training she did - the one for non-combat soldiers. It’s one month (I think even less than that for women) of learning the basics of being in the army - discipline, marching, some

What is the evidence that he’s even still good, much less “otherworldly?” Those 2014-2016 seasons were a lifetime ago.

Particularly since Barry Jenkins is, you know... RIGHT THERE.

Directors who are successful at scaling up are usually very good at delegating. They tend to have a regular crew they can trust. So now instead of the DP also being the camera op, there’s a larger crew that the DP is in charge of for all cinematography-related matters. Or the one wardrobe person now has an entire

Some directors work better with a smaller scale. Once they ascend to blockbuster levels, they can’t manage the larger production, especially when the visual effects become a larger part of that. Christopher Nolan was able to do it, and studios just hope the next one will be able to as well.

Honestly not surprised that the director of Nomadland made another boring-ass movie *hides*

Said it before, I’ll say it again. “Rise of Skywalker” isn’t just the worst SW movie of all time by a country mile, but it’s literally one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
