I was in IDF for 3 years - not anything combat-related, mostly fixing various communication devices. I probably did the same basic training she did - the one for non-combat soldiers. It’s one month (I think even less than that for women) of learning the basics of being in the army - discipline, marching, some

What is the evidence that he’s even still good, much less “otherworldly?” Those 2014-2016 seasons were a lifetime ago.

Particularly since Barry Jenkins is, you know... RIGHT THERE.

Directors who are successful at scaling up are usually very good at delegating. They tend to have a regular crew they can trust. So now instead of the DP also being the camera op, there’s a larger crew that the DP is in charge of for all cinematography-related matters. Or the one wardrobe person now has an entire

Some directors work better with a smaller scale. Once they ascend to blockbuster levels, they can’t manage the larger production, especially when the visual effects become a larger part of that. Christopher Nolan was able to do it, and studios just hope the next one will be able to as well.

Honestly not surprised that the director of Nomadland made another boring-ass movie *hides*

Said it before, I’ll say it again. “Rise of Skywalker” isn’t just the worst SW movie of all time by a country mile, but it’s literally one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

Charlotte Rampling. That's all you had to say.

Ok so people complaining about this is mostly the kids that had the games with no exp share, no run, had to go back to a pc to switch pokemon, etc. And we all loved that, why do they have the need to dumbdown a game for new generations when we did more than fine, and we were less knowladgable about technology.

They already had a challenge mode in Gen 5 and I was bummed to see it not come back.

It’s funny you should mention that, because Chappelle left his very successful sketch show at the height of its popularity because he saw that his humor has having an adverse effect on how black people were represented.

It’s mindblowing that a guy who quit his show because he felt the audience was laughing with the racism and not at it has now thrown in his lot exclusively with the people that drove him to quit in the first place.

That he quit as one of the most celebrated comics of his era, and returned to comedy as generic boomer

To me, it’s even sadder that her family is insisting that Dave is an ally. He treated their daughter/sister well so he *must* be an ally.

exactly, people can love their trans kids and still be terrible to them because they are trans, and terrible to all trans people.

THIS is the key right here.  The studio will step in and shut her the fuck up (and maybe even recast her) if people don’t get vaccinated and a massively expensive outbreak occurs.  Unfortunately that is the ONLY way they will take the correct, decisive action; anything short of that will be swept under the rug.

Ugh, remember when Jezebel were wagging their finger at mean ol’ Tom Cruise for being a mean ol’ meanie? Then publishing sympathetic essays about #gaysovercovid? Fucking gross.

Especially since Cruise was already going above and beyond to make it easier on everyone, such as renting out an entire ocean liner so the crew could quarantine in relative comfort.

I agree about the concept of playing both ends against the middle as it suits their agendas. If there wasn’t a concerted effort in this land to demonize Blackness, it might be a non-issue. I want to be real clear that I support people identifying as they see fit. Choosing one or multiple possibilities is on them. But

I don’t know about the status of Kate’s mother, or if she’s ever been mentioned or depicted in the comics as Jewish, but Kate talks about being raised Jewish and celebrating holidays with her father (specifically Hanukkah, ugh, but whatever). To me personally, how a person was raised and how they self-identify are the

It’s hard to know for sure as far as what’s “really” written by him. I mean... He is very fast, that’s undeniable. My job at Sony was assisting the Story Department, which is where all the scripts go for reading. His Social Network drafts came in extremely fast after notes. And like I say, he was fond of complaining
