They’re hacks because they couldn’t give a shit about the quality of the show and just want it over. And they’ve had plenty of time - since at least Tyrion’s cousin Orson speech when he’s waiting for his trial by combat - to come up with a good ending.

I honestly hope you get hit by a car that I’m driving.

I’d like to go on record now and say the show will fail to capture the ethos of the comicbook largely because the ethos of the comicbook is bound up in it being a comicbook and partly because Lindelof is a one trick pony (that trick is brilliant for the Leftovers and terrible for Lost and useless for Watchmen).

Rick and Morty with an MFA.

Cersei - rational? Ahahaha good one. And Qyburn’s science is... zombies. Nah buddy, nice try at the contrarian take but it needs to actually make sense with what the show has given us.

It’s completely consistent in there’s magic and god’s but it’s difficult to work and their motives are unknowable a lot of the time.

True, even cvrches have calculated their usual audience will be pissed off so are issuing the statement to retain them and continue to make money.

“this also reflects poorly on Chvrches” only if you like a bit of guilt by association or crave collective punishment which is obviously stu... something the AVC likes to encourage because it leads to clicks.

While the first season had a lot of fun with Jonny’s unfashionable opinions and skewered the really toxic ones it also cast a critical eye over the current fashionable opinions and tried really hard to find a path through that allowed for the good parts of trad masculinity to be retained and the more dangerous parts

Naw, malthusian bullshit that’s genuinely close to being “legitimised” by politicians once climate change really hits is way more disturbing than some guy trying to show off to get laid.

Indeed and this not so little anti-colonialist swipe makes it the most progressive of the MCU canon, ironic considering BP is up next and usually takes the praise.

Good lord I just realised if there was ever a time to make Worm into a TV series it would be now.

Now this is how you edge case test the believe victims heuristic

True but getting the brother of the guy who played his brother is too much meta fun for me not to like the idea.

Good lord no, it’s far worse than being a drug addict which isn’t the addicts fault.

The film has him take advantage of the horrible situation to have sex with someone he has feelings for but pretends to be just a friend. That’s a negative light the film is aware of, hence the ending being ominous. She chose him through a combination of fear and his coercion and the film doesn’t shy away from that.

The bit that indicates him caring isn’t genuine is him using the entity as a way to have sex with her and then use a prostitute to try to free himself.

Hang on a minute, last week someone talked about cheating on their spouse and lying to them AND to the person they were cheating on and the advice was pretty compassionate. Here we have someone who didn’t cheat or lie but invaded privacy and doesn’t like people who cheat and their enablers yet they’re told they’re a

Right the guy uses the literal spectre of death to get himself laid and with someone he professes to care about. That’s a pretty damning indictment of his behaviour.

Thank fuck this got D’Angelo reviewing it who was never going to be confused by the depiction = endorsement canard so many other critics seem to have walked right into. Anyone who saw It Follows and it’s unsparing view of the “friendzone” best friend should have realised this film wouldn’t be falling into the usual
