Sorry to hear. :(

It was in a pretty shit county.

Judging by other comments, I’m gathering that charges of murder vs vehicular manslaughter are not applied consistently.

That’s good to hear. I wonder if the law has changed. I do not want to give away too many specifics, but the accident I’m speaking of occurred in California roughly 20 years ago. The driver was only charged with counts of vehicular manslaughter.

Yeah, maybe. Wouldn’t surprise me.

You nailed it. Fuck that guy and the courts.

Thanks. Hopefully the courts are getting stricter, but who knows?

Agreed. Maybe a lawyer can chime in and explain the reasoning, but it makes no sense to me.

Thanks!

My only explanation is... Texas. haha

I posted this below but am still in the greys for some reason.

This is good news. Now only if drunk drivers were awarded the same punishment for their lack of sense. I had 3 relatives die in a crash after being hit head on by a drunk driver on a suspended license from multiple DUI’s and the driver was only charged with 3 counts of vehicular manslaughter.

How much did that run you? I remember Motel 6's being $400/night when I flew out there the first year.

Agreed. I flew out there for the inaugural race and took the bus from downtown. Fast and efficient, plus I didn’t have to worry about my alcohol intake.

This is right.

I was saying that a little tongue in cheek, but I appreciate the response. I like the 690 Duke a whole lot, but I’ve talked to a few people locally that complain about dealer support. I’m leaning towards a used SV650. I love the look of naked bikes too... decisions.

I’ve ridden dirt bikes (Yamaha 230tt) for a number of years very recreationally, so I do have some feel for riding. With that said, even though I’m a tall and big dude, I do find heavier bikes to be intimidating just from sitting on them and getting a feel for the weight. I rode a Shadow 250 during the length of a two

I plan to be riding by then, but good first bike material? :D

Did I kick you in the feels?

I bet the same people who clapped are also voting for Trump.
