Unfortunately it’s mostly everything but the addiction story threads that inject the cutesy levity in this series. That’s why it ends up feeling incongruent, even though that’s clearly the intention (“look at these cartoon characters being silly while their victims are suffering in gritty dark corners!”). It works…

I rewatched it fairly recently, and it’s pretty fun! No masterpiece or anything, but certainly an entertaining diversion.

As much as they stray from an accurate telling, the majority of these can reasonably called biopics. But that explanation for Amadeus makes no sense. It’s pure fiction that just happens to have Mozart as a character. (It’s wonderful! But come on!)

Yeah, I have to say — the acting was really the draw for Black Bird and it gave the cast some captivating material in isolation but overall it wasn’t very good.

They could’ve created a “Best Afterschool Special” category just for that Ted Lasso season so that they had a nice sendoff. But instead, it’s there clogging up the categories and keeping out all the funny vampires (etc).
