I’m so grateful they stuck with Trevor Noah now, he really has risen to the occasion during these last few months.
Yes, those club scenes definitely made me glad I was sitting home safely on my couch in my boring life! (But also very well done.)
I always assumed they were both in on the beard?
Especially for the 80s (made later but took place then) -- blonde vs brunette, rich vs working class. Cheerleader vs nerd. It made sense in a small town where these people had gone to school together for years and years, as opposed to those two walking in a room at the same time unknown
It’s been a state holiday in Texas for 40 years and a ceremonial holiday in a dozen more for ages
Three years running, in fact!
I loved that this skipped the obligatory long stretch in U.S. sexual assault narratives where the woman spends half the story refusing to tell anyone or acknowledge anything. And yes, I realize that right now in this day and age and at this moment in time there is every reason for an assault victim to not go to the…
I wish they hadn’t abandoned the mini-reviews for less-visited series that were just a few quick thoughts and a potentially robust comments section. It seemed so simple!
I’ve just googled “hopepunk” and am at least 5% cheerier than I was before that, so I thank you!
Oh thank you, totally missed that!
“We’ve covered every borough but Queens”-- wait, what? What am I forgetting? When did we go to the Bronx?
And there I was praying for a Bob Uecker reference after the Mr. Belvedere mention!
I think that’s the best lesbian movie of the 80s by a country mile.
The first episode of this was really good -- I’m apparently in a minority but I’m generally not too impressed by Amanda Peet, but she was so creepy as this unraveling woman. I think this should be interesting from Betty’s POV not in any way to excuse what she did but just to see how someone goes from a decent,…
I’ve run out of any insightful articulation because of The World, but that was just... goofy. I don’t know if it was bad? But it was goofy. I thought this season got off to a bad start but then by about the 4th episode gave us a great run of excellent episodes, so this one was a bit embarrassing. Will Eve and that rasc…
Every episode title this season was a riff on that show on purpose. They did it last season off a different sitcom. Wonder which one’s next!
It’s very disappointing about Lindo and Jumbo and they better not replace them by bumping two more white people to contract status. That’ll be a bummer if they change the whole premise of the law firm.
