My impression was that they were on Broadway — obviously the reviewer here disagrees, but that’s certainly what it looked like on every level. And if that’s the case, it could absolutely break a multi-millionaire’s bank.

Willa is an actress, too? Seems odd that if that were the case, she wouldn’t already have a big career via the Waystar film division
Whew.
Wait, this is all going to be in one night? That’s disappointing. For a full season of television, we need more darks and lights, ebbs and flows. The everyday stuff is what makes the freaky stuff freaky.
Yep. I will still be complaining about it on my deathbed.
Was anyone named after Dan’s mother? I can’t remember her name.
Becky was the most fun character last season, and now all her stories are going to be frazzled new mom of baby, I guess. Bummer.
I have to admit I’m kind of confused about Roman’s plan for Gerri. And also all the “Gerri should be CEO” social media posts. She was offered interim CEO in the first season and unequivocally rejected it. And I really interpreted it as sincere, not just “I won’t be interim.” Maybe I misread it.
I think Strong has had a very shiny Season 2. He was great in 1 but this season is one the award folk can’t ignore next year.
And I do love how their relationship with their mother also helps explain how different Connor is from the other three. Still a mess, but not the kind you can directly trace back to the others’ mother.
He said he was, but he certainly could’ve been lying
There are many. They have sessions of 1-4 weeks, generally, but some kids stay for all the sessions in a summer.
Yep. As an homage, this was pretty damn delightful.
You should 1000% watch the movie, but the order doesn’t matter.
It’s driving me nuts. Half the shows are like this now.
Is there a review of the second episode? It’s not under The Deuce in TV Reviews, and I’ve searched on the site and can’t find it anywhere (in fact, this was a bitch to find itself!). I swear I saw a headline yesterday before I’d seen the episode.
Yes, I can’t stand James Franco but he’s blissfully not the lead he would seem to be, and there’s so much other great stuff. It’s really the women’s stories I’ll walk away with.
There’s another way to pronounce rendezvous?
The movie is a microcosm of that. You keep forgetting she’s in it and then she pops up again. She probably had less than one full page of dialogue altogether (mercifully, from where I sit).
Nope.
