They are afraid of losing their privilege. And their boners.

So what exactly, I am curious to know, has Anita done to "deserve" death and rape threats by someone who knows where she lives, hmmm?
It is an achievement FOR YOU, but not for someone who doesn't find being fit and active enjoyable or important. That's my point. For gamer X, finally slaying that boss at the end of the dungeon is an achievement, but getting a ball in a hoop isn't.
The comments on the Kotaku article made me curl up in a ball of misery and eat a whole bucket of ice cream. So many assholes on there mansplaining and dismissing the problem of female (mis)representation in video games, just awful.
It still isn't what you called an "achievement" though. It just makes you feel good, which is fine. Dude, a hobby is a hobby. Some people collect stamps, which I personally don't get at all, but if it makes the person happy, who am I to pretend my hobbies are better than theirs? It's all just a giant waste of time in…
Playing basketball is just as unproductive as playing video games. Neither of those activities produce anything other than fun and relaxation for the people involved.
Actually it is pretty standard in academia to have a hypothesis (in this case, "video games are sexist") and work towards proving it.
haha, lol, you don't seem to be able to understand correlations. Also, saying "haha, lol" makes you sound like a 12-year-old. An uncool one, at that.
Firstly, no one is saying violence against men isn't a problem. Secondly, the point Anita is making is that violence against women is almost always coupled with sexual titillation, e.g. women in sexy outfits being killed and then draped somewhere with their boobs showing, or prostitutes in sexy lingerie being beaten…
You are right, we should stop criticising anything ever. Let's never criticise the government again, unless we ourselves are part of the government! I mean, really, if we want political change we should damn well become elected ourselves or just stfu!
Using the original poster's amazing logic here: "If you are so concerned about the way video games portray violence against men then how about you make your own video series about it instead of criticising Anita's, hmmmmm?"
Ha, that's what I was thinking when I read the article: "If Beyonce did this we would celebrate her 'owning her sexuality' or some horses hit like that."
I think she meant "of ALL the times I, Millenial person likely under 30, have watched the VMAs!"
As a lady with a ridiculously big butt that she has been trying to get rid of for decades the idea of WANTING extra fat in there is beyond me!
Actually, hornets are very docile and only a danger if you purposely anger them, much like bees. Now, wasps on the other hand, are from the devil, no doubt.
It's not hatred, it's justified criticism. Have you READ the book? It is as terrible as everyone says.
Interesting, in Germany we also have that "baby HAS to lie flat or spine will be malformed" rule, but we ALSO have the "never-ever-ever use a blanket in the crib or baby will die immediately" rule. Maybe Germany is even more paranoid than the US? We do let our kids walk to school though...
Well, why not use actual rose essential oil (dilute with a carrier oil), or if that is too expensive, use a rose hydrosol (can usually be found in organic shops). I THINK Crabtree and Evelyn has some rose-scented stuff as well, and the Body Shop used to have a tea rose fragrance, but I haven't been to their stores in…
They were also both deeply unlikeable characters. I never cared less for a rom com couple than I did with these two!
Both (in my case at least).
