I am 38 and I am exactly like you. To be honest, I think it’s more about taking on responsibilities that automatically turn you into more of an adult, especially having children and a job that forces you into a routine. My sisters both were married with children at my age and they definitely were far more responsible

Everything you just wrote there made me whimper with terror!

*whimpers

I’m not disputing that. This was about why I, a German, would be scared to visit the US! I am equally terrified of every single poisonous thing living in Australia. I totally don’t understand how people survive in that crazy place, shudder. I mean...even their OCEAN is full of poisonous things! :-O

Awww, Keas don’t really steal your camping food - they are just...um...very curious! Ok, ok, they are greedy fuckers, but I just love their weirdness so much!

BUT WHAT IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY STEP ON THEM!!! They just terrify me. Bears at least can be spotted pretty easily.

I keep reading stories about rattlesnakes hiding in people’s backyards or basements - that just terrifies me to no end!!!

Australia is pretty badly infested with GIANT cockroaches, apparently. I think I fear them almost more than snakes.

I lived in New Zealand for 7 years and never saw a single weta since they only occur in certain parts of the country. Also, wetas are literally the ONLY slightly creepy bug in NZ, which is precisely why I decided to study there and not in Australia. Zero snakes! Only one poisonous spider that is super, super rare! God

As a non-American, I’m not really scared of bears, but I AM scared of rattle snakes! It’s the number one reason why the warmer parts of the US terrify me! Also, cockroaches and bedbugs - we do have them here in Germany, but they aren’t nearly as widespread as they seem to be in the US. Shudder.

Thank you for that perspective! I guess I only know people who watch it “ironically” and very definitely laugh AT the two women. Good to hear a different take on it.

I have tried a couple of times to watch it because so many people find it entertaining and even funny, apparently, but all I see is an almost unbearable tragedy presented in uncomfortably exploitative ways. I feel like the people who love this documentary are basically just laughing at these two poor women and their

The difference is that most Turkish people sadly still support, even worship, Erdogan after years of doing horrible shit. Same cannot be said about most Americans and Trump anymore - his approval ratings are super low, after all.

Finally some good news! He lived way too long anyway, good fucking riddance.

“Lena wants to be equal to white men. That’s the goal of feminism for her.”

I tried to watch Girls after Jezebel hyped it up so much and it just made me feel incredibly old - these people were all horrible, entitled assholes who were behaving like teenagers while actually in their mid 20s. I didn’t find it relatable or funny at all, just tiring.

Then why even ask?

It sucked so HARD, I think I gave up after the first 3 episodes.

To be fair, American Jezzies find EVERY country that isn’t America bizarre!
