Please, DEMONSTRATE that I don’t understand copyright. I’m waiting. And I haven’t moved any goalposts, you smug faggot with a boring meaningless job. It’s not wrong to download NES roms. They made their money. Everyone involved got all the money they’re ever going to get for making them. Nintendo no longer sells them

Still purchase where, dipshit? Nintendo no longer sells NES games, last I checked. The market for original NES games is a resale market.

Um. no, retard, if my whole argument had depended on it I’m pretty sure I’d have mentioned it first and foremost.

I’d say the point I get to decide that was sometime between the NES games coming out during the late 80s/early 90s, and 2016, when we’re 9 generations of video games later.

Um, yea, I know what public domain is. I have Project Gutenberg bookmarked. I’m not arguing about what’s legal.

You are DEMONSTRABLY (in that you have just demonstrated it) unaware of what demonstrably means. Please, demonstrate how I am unaware of how copyright works.

I missed your 2nd paragraph.

My analogy was not a legal analogy, it was a moral analogy. Books go into the public domain because, basically, everyone got paid. All the milk the author and publisher and agents and so on deserved to get from that cow, they got. So it is with old video games. Everyone involved in financing and creating old NES games

No, more like bc you realized you said something stupid and blindly pedantic but which had misinterpreted my post. I am aware of copyright law and understand how it works. My argument was not a legal one.

You seriously think downloading Roms of 30 year old video games is stealing? Those things made their money. Everyone got paid for their work, the company got paid for its investment. Downloading those Roms is no more stealing than downloading books fallen into the public domain is stealing. In fact it’s even less so -

We also had a SegaCD and yes there was nothing. We also had a handheld, Atari Lynx, for which there was nothing. My friend had a TurboGrafx 16, for which - wait for it - there was nothing. Bonk the Caveman and then nothing.

Ah, I forgot Golden Axe. When we had the system GA2 was the game packaged with it as I recall. Fun game. Squirrels coughing up shit in bonus rounds, lizard men. The whole thing.

I don’t mean to be too hard on Genesis. Sonic Spinball is one of my favorite games ever, the X-Men games were fun, I liked the sports games. There just wasn’t much. In order my consoles went Atari, NES, Genesis, PS1 (we also had an N64 used exclusively for Pokemon Stadium). Genesis was the only time really my family

That’s $2 a game for 30 games that’ve been free in perfect emulation for like 15 years.

Also needs Duck Hunt (I guess they didn’t want to bother with light gun stuff) and Maniac Mansion.

NES or the original PlayStation, imo. But SNES was good. For that generation my family had a Genesis and boy did that suck. Like 10 good games.

Bad choices immediately evident - no Tetris, Tecmo Bowl rather than vastly superior Tecmo Super Bowl.

Nah it was insincere horse shit from a cop-hating ghetto thug.

These aren’t the duties, dumb fuck. Security is an extra gig.

Actually, yes, they do get to decide to do or not do their job. Welcome to life.
