Not giving you free services or turning their business into your little office is not being an "asshole". It's running a business in a fiscally responsible manner so that they can pay their employees and feed their families.

Not only do free WiFi points kick you now and then, they seem to be getting slower. There is a McDonalds nearby that has only a 1.5 Mbps connection and kicks you off every 2 hours (although you can log on again and continue).

Nobody has bothered to mention the one overriding problem with these screens with resolution that is high enough to give you paper cuts - there is damned little media that can handle the resolution.
