You are basically why I added the note because I knew someone would take me wrong or or talk about fake progressives and you did.

Donny is also genuinely concerned about Martha’s mental health. She doesn’t get a heartfelt episode dedicated to her psyche, but Gunning’s breathtaking performance fleshes it out anyway. Gunning leaves you gasping with fear yet invokes a disconcerting sensitivity to Martha’s plight.

Spoken like someone who doesn’t want to see Jon Voight’s erection.

There isn't a race war in this film. Civil Wars can be about anything. It just means a country fighting itself

given how long promotions usually take in Starfleet

I’ll be revisiting these jokes as my way of paying my respects

Just terrible. My father died the same way

It is so weird that a certain percentage of fans will freak out about casting a beautiful woman in a comic book movie.

I re-watched The Limey yesterday and it’s still terrific. Terrence Stamp just owns the screen, but Lesley Ann Warren and Barry Newman put on a supporting character actor clinic. I also still crack up at Nicky Katt’s (I assume) improvised insult parade at the film shoot when he’s looking for Stamp’s character.

Nobody in thier right mind has a problem with this casting, it’s great! For those not in their right mind can we ignore them? Stop acknowledging them and just ignore them, please.

They made a miniseries of “The City & The City” back in 2018 with David Morrissey. It was pretty good, it’s on Freevee and Britbox if you want to check it out.

Indeed, The City and the City was filmed: The City and the City (TV series) - Wikipedia

I’m of the opinion that now, it’s not about the technology not being able to capture something. The most absurd or wild or epic visuals can be represented on screen. I think the challenge now is taking concepts and narratives and

Yeah, the D&D hate is the stuff of pathology, like an angry toddler lashing out at not getting a second cookie.

First, there’s the ridiculous idea that ANYONE on the show was clamoring to do more seasons after spending a DECADE on the whole thing. All were spent, all were done, all were wanting to move on. GRRMs

That is a really bad description. Hes not inherently buffoonish or dumb-the original series makes a big point about how intelligent, principled and brave he is-most people dropped into a foreign country with no knowledge at all of the language or customs wouldve done a lot worse.

This is a great write up, but I have to disagree with you about the courtesan scene. He wasn’t trying to avoid making it seem like he thinks all Japanese women look alike, he was trying to hide his disappointment that it wasn’t (he is lead to believe) Mariko.

This is actually an enjoyable and fairly well written article on what’s turning out to be the best show on TV right now. Whoever decided to saddle it with this asinine title should be fired.

“ fans—this writer admittedly included— reveled as every single one of the duo’s subsequent attempts to get a show to air continued to fall on the proverbial sword.”

This is so odd to me. They wrote a few unsatisfying episodes of a television show people were really invested in, and people take joy in them not

Many of us appreciate those films. There are dozens of us. Dozens!

Looks like a safe “greatest hits” version of the two Alien movies everybody likes. I just wish more people appreciated Prometheus/Covenant for at least attempting something different.

Would love some Excited, Manic Keaton and not Sleepwalking, Bored Keaton like in The Flash
