As an American who knows how to drive, I love roundabouts. But I absolutely hate the people in them. They started popping up here 10-15 years ago in low volume areas but now they’re everywhere.

I don’t see how you draw a conclusion that Americans hate roundabouts. Sure, we’re not really trained on how to behave on them but then our drivers’ ed is shit to begin with so there is that.
