I’m doing some work with a travel agent client and am reminded that I can’t relate. When I get time off, my ideal way to spend it is canoeing to secluded lake and camping and fishing with my kids. No cell service, no schedule, and very few people.

I live downriver from a cruise port and occasionally catch one of the Carnival “fun ships” as they set sail. DEAR GOD the racket I hear from it, including some jackass DJ or emcee or something, yelling to people topside to “have fun!” and “get ready to party!” and other inane crap.

It may be that the lake is freshwater and uphill from the ocean and gravity was cheaper than pumping salt water uphill and then the salt messing with the ecosystem. that is just a guess.
