Other than bragging rights what practical value does this have? The world needs reasonably priced 250 mile EVs, and this six figure sticker behemoth has enough conflict minerals to power two or three Chevy Bolts

You're not wrong,  and I laugh at those too.

I like the Guzzi but like the V1000 I demoed in the 90s felt too much like the BMW Airhead I already owned to be worth it. Otherwise not much speaks to me this week

As expected problem one is how to charge in deep nowhere? I am also amused to see the “overlander” cliche kit as a Tacoma or Gladiator,  roof tent, Hi Lift jack and Rotapaks.

This is on brand for Tesla fanboys, something not functional and hyped. Of course if you really want colored calipers you can get a can of VHT paint and some prep materials for $20 at Autozone and do the dirty work yourself

Ford even put these in medium duty trucks. I think Jalopnik even had an article about testing a V10 powered F650 dump truck

At the moment, noisy diesel trucks used as personal transport. The kid across the street just fired up his old Dodge Ram with the lift kit, noisy exhaust and low profile tires. I’ve never seen this haul or tow so he could drive a Honda Fit and spare me the theatrics. I fondly recall the day it broke and got me three

It may depend on the area.  I see plenty of Subarus at trailheads and at the ski slope. I also see "overlander" Subarus with roof tents and traction boards and I laugh at them.

My understanding is that Opticom requires a special light on the vehicle, at least on the vehicles I’ve seen.

Isn't 10 seconds the NHRA threshold for having a roll cage and full harness? I'm not surprised about smoking the S-10, cubic money beats mods.

WTF, on my car the "sport" mode is a little toggle the size of an old GM power window switch.

I am busting a gut laughing ylthat Tesla Partial Self Driving can't navigate the Tesla Hype Loop.

That was an Adam Something video.

I think around $1500 for something with a reputation for being unkillable. The family beater is a 2003 Buick LeSabre my son bought for $1700 in 2017. It literally outlived the first two owners,  survived college and his sister learning to drive and the only major repair was replacing the front cylinder head with a

I agree with most of these but make an exception for adding Venti Ports to Buicks, as long as it's the correct number and an appropriate style. I want to add the slim early 70s style with 3 ports to our 2003 LeSabre with the 3800 V6

I guess this validates my plan to get a Mazda or Honda to replace our CX-5.

Were these Firestone 500s? Dad was involved with truck wheels, and IIRC had little to do with tires, and was done by 1974

I've heard of airplane tires exploding on landing but this is the first one I've heard of in a shop. Then again I shouldn't be surprised my father was involved in Firestone truck wheel litigation when I was in Kindergarten so I've know about exploding wheels forever.

Yet another reason to vote ND
