I applaud Motor Trend for its Consumer Reports moment, after decades of advertorial articles.

You are so right, I remember an article about 10 years ago that found the 28mm actually had lower rolling resistance. There was also an odd externalities involving US tariffs and tire clearance. There was a similar phenomenon in cars where “handling” meant rock hard springs and rubber band tires mor maximum skid pad g

I don’t know about the others but a CX-5 is more like $35k these days. I have seriously considered replacing my CX-5 with a Maverick if my short wife considers the visibility acceptable, since that is her big issue with the CX-5

I have decided to start calling Tesla’s SAE level 2 system Full Self Crashing from now on.

It was an observation,  not a complaint. I use the right lane and mostly everything goes fine,

The private equity and leveraged buyout guys pocket their millions early on and after that they lose interest.  As long as they get their payday going bankrupt is unimportant.

They could have done a better job with that gearshift, contemporary Daimlers used a short shift lever tucked into a notch in the driver’s seat cushion.

The Cybertruck seems to inspire stupidity and cringe. Over the weekend I saw a black Cybertruck with a Firefly itasha treatment.  On the other hand I also saw a Cybertruck towing a camper.

An observation on speed is the astonishing number of people who blow by when you have cruise control set to 1mph over the limit.  My wife insists on the low speed due to PTSD and I've found it doesn't make much of a difference time wise. I  do notice brodozers and modified cars pass more aggressively.  I have also

That sounds less dire than an orphaned Tesla would be.

Avanti was analog,  pretty much anything could be made given a drawing or sample.

I wonder if that ship does inter island freight or something because the open fore deck and large crane look very freighter like.

I think the cloud software is the biggest problem for this and any future car. The same issue exists with computer games when the server goes away.

because it’s a level surface, seats have all sorts of lumps and bumps. Also to address other concerns, 1. old TWA kept their planes much cleaner than today, 2. laying a blanket on the floor covered any residual stuff.

hard pass, that’s stupid money for a gussied up army truck when I can get a good used 300GD for$20-30k and have a more authentic interior and decent acceleration from a turbocharged engine, heck I’ve seen a really nice 280GE that out styles these tech bro toys.

The only successful airplane sleep hack I know is laying on the floor in an empty row. My mom used to do that in the 80s in bulkhead rows. I doubt you’ll find a sufficiently empty plane to do it now.

Agreed, but stupid skews heavily teenaged

ND the Passat W8 is PCH that only Mercedes Streeter would love

There is a possibility this is an edge case where the sensors don't handle overhanging wall but this is probably operator error.

1st gear: Ford has a lot of pickup and SUV profits to subsidize EV development, overall they are doing fine.
