My faves:

I replaced the cylinder heads on 2002 F150 with a,5.4 Triton. This took every weekend in July and involved making a hoist out of a 2x4 and a ratchet strap to lift and lower the heads. There are dozens of 8mm bolts almost zero clearance at the firewall and the timing chains

The DS is an amazing and magnificent car but I cannot consider it influential because only Citroën imitated it. The trend of austere styling and simplicity could just as easily be a Rover P5 or Pontoon Mercedes.  I can point to dozens of Mercedes imitators, or Fiat 128 variations,  but nothing imitates a DS except…

The Fiat 128 deserves even more credit than the Mini for defining the modern small car since it had the transmission on the end of the engine instead of in the oil sump. The 128 was also early into the hatchback game with the wagon and later the 128 3P. 

For something targeted at old people that's a fine interior and you can sit 3 across.  There's some GM plastics issues but it works.

The new G wagen front styling is a mistake.  I saw,one on the street and from an angle it looks like a Volvo. 

A Buick LeSabre from this era is $2-3000 with the unkillable 3800 V6 and a better interior.  ND for anything over $2k for this
