Electrochemical machining FTW

If straw purchasers and felons in possession were prosecuted with even half the energy the ATF devotes to harassing trigger manufacturers the Federal prisons would be overflowing and gang bangers would be reduced to using crossbows and slingshots. Sadly the last time anyone tried actively prosecuting these crimes

Discount Tire said $100‐500 each so I probably lowballed it

Blokada on my phone and uBlock Origin on my computer make Jalopnik usable.

I grew up with small cars, I consider anything over 3,000lbs heavy.

I had weird kid mess rather than disgusting mess. The back seat of our Saturn had a bright red stain where the wax from a Babybel cheese melted after our then 4 year old dropped it on the seat.

That’s why the people who own them have a full time mechanic and a restoration shop on call

The most likely answer is,the gun was stolen or straw purchased. Sometimes thefts are wholesale, a few years ago an entire box car of guns was ripped off near Chicago in transit from a manufacturer to a distributor.

I’m surprised Shot Spotter was actually useful for a change.

I suspect tires are a major line item, it’s a big heavy car and averages 30,000 miles and $1000 per set.

Rivian should be paying attention after their newsworthy collision repair estimates.

As a generality possessing and transporting 1000 rounds is normal in many cases. This particular incident is abnormal as were the occupants of the vehicle in question.

Carrying inside the waistband on the strong side hip can leave the gun muzzle pointing at a butt cheek. I still prefer that to the popular appendix carry position where the muzzle points at your wedding tackle and femoral artery.

.22 comes in 500 round bricks, several competition disciplines use 2-300 rounds per day. Buying 1000 rounds at a time is normal for a lot of people. I wish I had the time and money to shoot 1000 rounds a month so my Steel Challenge times wouldn’t suck.

That’s my objection to this car. The side and rear look too much like a Studebaker and not enough like an Aston Martin. The Lark is so legendary that its look can’t be used on anything not a Studebaker. That said the wraparound rear window has a strong Plymouth Barracuda vibe. At least the front is unmistakably Aston

The original hammer effect was supposed to replicate hand hammering but modern stuff has it machined into the die so it could be done to a Tesla with a new press tool. Alternatively a robot with a ball pein hammer could do a more natural texture.

You won’t but the age of the platform means 25+ year old ones are plentiful but admittedly LHD will require a more challenging vehicle search or post import conversion.

Small sensible vehicles, the EPA,footprint reg is killing us. I especially like small vans like the recently departed Transit Connect and mini minivans like the Renault Scenic or Citroën Picasso. When our Mazda5 was totaled I would have gladly bought another but it was off the market.

It varies by state, Idaho has a restricted use plate for side by sides and Kei trucks that allows operation on back roads and surface streets but not highways.

They are readily available as grey imports. I see a few around town, including one with a pop top camper conversion plus some 70 Series flatbeds.
