“And what about the X-Men??” Oh, it worked.
Probably in the minority, but I totally loved it. The group deciding they needed to kick Josh’s ass was perfect. It might be that maybe, just maybe, I’m not taking a goddamned She-Hulk show very seriously to begin with because the character is inherently kind of ridiculous.
I had to pause and rewind when they actually lifted off the top of a practical model during the discussion of the plan. “I’ll do it, it’s fragile that piece, the rain gets into the glue”. It WASN’T A DAMN HOLOGRAM
I started watching some Harrow the other day, and frankly Ioan Gruffudd would make a perfectly decent Reed Richards today, much more so than he did then.
The show had me 100% at ‘Tatiana Maslany’, so the good vibes are just gravy.
That the Krayt dragon in A New Hope is actually from One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing, which gets blank stares, so then I get to go on about Peter Ustinov as an Asian guy, and also that he was Prince John in the best Robin Hood movie ever.
I have zero knowledge of the comic book stories, but this series is ridiculously fun and it may be my favorite Marvel series so far. Iman Vellani is an absolute joy.
I would lay down all the money if Lego put out some Disney Robin Hood sets. ALL THE MONEY
It was extremely dark for me also, but I also have OLED. I finally shut off all the lights.
I have to confess I’m really only onboard now for the 12 Monkeys Easter eggs. GALE LIVES BABY!
This really, REALLY was a LOT. The sense of time passing in general in relation to all the disparate plot threads is really murky as well. I get it, as noted, this is a ton of set up, so hopefully the bulk of that is out of the way and we can spend less time on exposition and chess piece moving for the home stretch.…
Just one quick shot of Cole, Cassie and Ramse sitting at a bar in the background is all I need now.
Markridge Tower? Mr. Matalas be dropping some 12 Monkeys eggs.
He hated a lot about it. He was actually gracious enough to swap a few emails with me a few years back.
What else were they going to do though, really. It was going to have to be something personal to drag him into a conflict. That’s the problem with slotting these stories into existing continuity anyway.
Bloom County
It’s been at least 2 and 1/2 years since I popped this thing open. How screwed am I going to be trying to reacclimate myself to it now?
This episode was pretty bland. But it could’ve been saved had Grogu whipped out Yoda’s lightsaber while wearing the beskar armor, and then flashing back to Luke at the moment of the choice. With Luke saying “I thought so. Always follow your heart. But...you may need this.”
All I really know is they’ve unabashedly plopped Raylan Givens right into the Star Wars universe and it makes me gleeful every damn time he speaks.
