It sucks, because "Jump" and "I'll Wait" are some of my favorite songs by Van Halen, if only because they feel like Van Halen songs in spirit, synths be damned.
There's a few decent songs hiding in the Van Hagar catalogue, but the whole thing is missing the attitude (I hate using that word for this, but it fits) that DLR brought to the band. They could get away with being a bunch of goofballs with Roth on the mic, but Hagar never had the ability to play the clown.
