Except for the fact that “she was a woman, and it would be reaffirming the rights and dreams of women everywhere if she were elected” was the rah-rah chant of so many in the media and in her election. It was part of her campaign, and was even more-so part of the campaign of those supporting her.

Like what? Planned Parenthood is about to get defunded. More is coming down the pike.

DO IT!

I’ve seen 17% thrown around, so yeah, you’re right on the number.

I don’t disagree with all of this. I think that most people want to work. The article doesn’t address the fact that people cheat.

Agreed, but that’s only on the top end.

What do you mean? I don’t understand this statement.

I like the awareness that has occurred, but I think it’s early to state that any accomplishments have occurred until there is some sort of measurable change.

True. They would only know the local level. Go find some internet forums. The doctor/nurse ones are the best. The stuff they have to do for drug addicts and abusive people is mind-boggling.

True. I used the wrong phrasing.

Nope.

If you treat corporate tax as a flat tax, this is not true.

Dunno. Depends on how you design the safety net.

The issue is that the same has happened to the left and social-safety net programs, many of which are entirely corrupt or are massively abused (cell phone giveaways, food stamps, SSI, disability, and veteran disability to name a few). I personally know people who abuse and cheat those systems.

I agree with you. Making $30M a year doesn’t take away $30M from others (necessarily).

What you can’t leave out though is the aide on the back-end that the ‘poor’ would receive through benefits. This is effectively already happening through the tax code anyway.

This is somewhat cryptic though, as many ‘poor’ would in return receive that money back through incentives or aide of some sort.

I went to another big school, and I saw the opposite. Our school had a top 10 women’s team every year (still does), and they would come in and play pick-up ball in the University’s gym.

I went to a big college with a big athletics program.
