@undefined: Actually it's not just him. Though Metroid Prime 3 controls were good, they were way too tiring for me. I actually prefer the GCN controls, which is why I will not be buying into the "Play it on Wii" line, especially if I already own the GCN versions. A 16:9 480p Wind Waker though, might make me buy for a

@Flashfire: I wouldn't say "bored", but definitely not scary when compared with 1 and 3. 1 still remains the scariest SH ever IMO.

I could see this work if they are more than simple ports with tacked on controls. For starters, 480p 16:9 must be a requirement.

From an ergonomics point of view:

Finally there is a review for this game from a respectable source! I thought the review was well written, but as someone said, for my tastes, I would have swapped some pros and cons. For example, a more straightforward story is a negative IMO. I feel that an "out there" story is more appropriate for a Silent Hill

@Wickerman1972: Exactly. MS shouldn't have worried about either PS3 trophies or Wii Miis. But given that this fall update is basically a rip off of their competitors interface/system, makes me think they actually are in panic mode. IMO, this update was really not needed or necessary.

@Agnates: I agree with you, but they are only 2 games and also 1st party. I think the discussion was about mature third party games on Wii that are neither kid friendly, nor use excessive gore to make their case.

So, on one hand avatars are more inviting to casual players, but then on the other, there is a xxxx/xxxx score associated with them? I don't think MS has any clear direction of what they want to do with this update. So far it looks like a "panic mode" update. (Avatars = Mii, XXXX/XXXX = PS3 trophies more or less).

Just finished Metal Gear Solid 4 story mode and I will be checking out Metal Gear Online and also entering some cheat codes for amusement. Then it will be Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 time with my wife (the only NFS that I actually liked) and Bionic Commando: Rearmed on PS3/PSP. Next week, Resident Evil (GCN) awaits.

The game sure looks good. Let's see how it reviews.

Kudos to developers for taking the allowed time and fixing as many issues as they can before release. I wonder if this is Phil Harrison paying his tributes to PlayStation...

LOL. Why didn't I hear of this game before? This seems like a must play title and something that should've been done a lot sooner! Downloading now.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't 100% increase basically mean they are selling the same as before? (100/100=1; 1x1=1) Over 100% means they are just selling more than before, but not enough to put a number. Still, anything that can graduate some casuals from Wii to real next-gen consoles (such as X360) can't be

That's what pretty much can be told for most console exclusives whether they belong on one platform or another. Smart developers use the platform strengths for their games (i.e. XBL for multiplayer and PS3 for HDD + BD). I will be curious to see how many discs FFXIII on X360 will need.

MadWorld is certainly a game to keep on the radar, however I am sick & tired that games for Wii are either family/kid friendly, or super violent/gore fest. Actually I am not either sick, nor tired, for PS3 and X360 are here to save the day :).

While I respect Miyamoto tremendously, I think Nintendo should let some new blood take over some of their stale franchises with Miyamoto only making sure the gameplay is up to standards. I mean he shouldn't ask questions like "why shoot from cars" or "why Link is a wolf" but rather "this is the way you shoot from

Ideas are a dime a dozen. What matters is who implements those ideas faster and better. So their arguments hold no water.

Or it could be that there were fewer black people participating in research which means fewer dark skinned avatars. Statistics and politics are 2 sciences that should stick together.

@2NinjasTapedTogether: I guess there were absolutely no children causalities with our invasion of Iraq under Bush for years now... Plus I would like a direct link to that quote if you will. Not to dwelve deeper into politics, but her time with Clinton is still regarded as a golden U.S. of A. era FYI.

@snakepliskin: Back on PS2 days $400k copies sold were considered a "hit". But with development costs sky rising, I don't know what the cut off would be for this-gen games. If Konami and MGS4 are any indication, that number could very well be around 1 million (for AAA games).
