The charter school thing was based off Bendis watching Waiting for Superman and not doing the bare minimum of research. Not to mention that it’s logistically stupid for Miles to dorm at a school that’s ten blocks away from where he lives.

I will say that Miles still going to charter school is some immense privileged bullshit. Especially in light of what we know now about charter schools and the decisions the movie itself makes to undermine that premise. That being said, GOD I LOVED IT.

The same reason that Bendis had Miles going to a charter school. He’s got good intentions, but he really doesn’t think through the implications of his decisions.
