My Fiat 500 Abarth. When I got it, I was in love. The exhaust, the crazy looking seats, the crazy dials that chased each other. But it was not to be.

This SOB. I remember when the Mazdaspeed3 came out. It was fast, practical, and engineered in America, despite it being a Japanese car. Plus, I was an avid reader of Sport Compact Car at the time and loved Dave Coleman, AND HE FREAKING WORKED ON IT! Come 2016, I was looking for a new daily driver, but didn’t have

Three words: Continuously Variable Transmission.

I need a t-shirt that says “I <3 the 300 I6” - the one in my ‘75 Ranger was a beast. The PO had coolant with too high a concentration of water in it (and I foolishly didn’t replace it right away) so it froze right in the block and locked up the engine when it was -38° outside in North Dakota. I parked it over winter

Yep, the rear wheel sensors showing 0 MPH has it thinking the rears are locked up and the ABS is trying to cut in to stop it. This platform (RT) has never had an AWD option. That died in 2004 with the previous generation.

I’m gonna go against the grain here:

Engine and trans is probably close to $5,000, rest of the parts and a good condition truck. I can see the price as reasonable. Put this engine in a same age Dodge and the seller would want 12,000+

The price is pretty high, especially for a used truck as old as this and usually I say Hell No to anyone’s shop project, but this one actually ducks under the wire for me.

Remember when beat up farm trucks were a tool, and not a fashion accessory? I remember. I remember selling trucks of similar vintage with similar “patina” for just over scrap pricing. Oh how times have changed.

You’re one of those people that says “I got hit by a Prius and my ‘72 Buick didn’t even look like it had been in a wreck, that Prius was trashed!” All while completely not understanding what is good and bad in a crash.

Your username describes the dealership.

I tried twice to buy one new and both times the dealer gave me the run-around. One dealer gave me a written price and then sold the car to itself to get the tax rebate and wanted me to buy it for the same price. I want one but the dealer experience has not been positive.

This happened in the early 2000s when I was a naive 18 year old trying to sell used cars for a living. I knew I liked driving and talking about cars, hell, I could ramble off the horsepower, torque, 0 to 60, and 1/4 mile of just about anything, but in reality I was pretty clueless on most things. Still am, really.

I was looking for a GTI a few years back and found a nice CPO’d 2007 with only 36K miles and a spotless carfax at a VW dealership in Atlanta.

I was looking for a cheap, semi-reliable commuter car to replace my aged (235k+ mile) 1993 Explorer. Rolled into a Mazda dealership in Renton, WA and it turns out they just received a trade in the day prior, a 2008 Mazda 3 sedan with under 100k miles in seemingly good condition.

I sold cars for a summer while in college, mostly new, at a Mitsubishi/Hyundai/Chevy/Cadillac dealership. I saw lots of horrible things (from both sides). But the worst was a customer I was showing a used Corolla to.

In the 90s, in a former professional life (CPA doing financial and systems audits), I spent some time at a large urban dealership which was part of a large dealership group. They had this racket going on that I really didn’t expect in a name brand new car dealership - they sold vehicles to people with sketchy credit

Took my Beretta GT into Joseph Chevrolet to get the clutch replaced. They told me the transmission shaft was damaged and that I would need a new transmission. I told them to save all of the parts. They put in a new clutch, transmission. When I picked up the car, they had said that the parking brake was stuck and they

I remember going out in like 2001 to buy my fist car,I went inside this dealeship near my house cause I saw a little for Ford car that I thought would be great for me since I wanted something used and reliable. Well the first thing i told him and my mom also was that we were just there to look and maybe test drive and
