Exactly my reaction. You don’t have to write roles specifically for black people in order to cast black people in them (or any other minorities). They are utterly oblivious to their white straight men are the default and any other combination needs to be specifically written.

Yeah...I am a white person who cares about diversity, and when I sit down to write a script or novel, I DO purposefully think about creating rich female and minority characters.

It’s like how actors of color are constantly turned down for generic roles because their race makes them “complex” or “different” or “less relatable” or “OTHER.”
