Gross. What a pack of retrograde losers. Its a population on the downswing though, so we won’t have to think about them for too much longer. That’s something to look forward to.

There is no fucking way Kylo Ren is an antihero. Wolverine is an antihero. Kylo Ren is just the bad guy.
Fred Smith I am a black man working in Hollywood and have been for 15 years. I do not need anything from you about Hollywood and it’s discriminatory practices and worship of blatantly racist assholes. See my comment on Ron Howard. I don’t need anything. I know how this industry works. I have worked for and with…
i think Ren, Rylo, and Finn share the spotlight quite equally and that moviegoers subjectively decide for themselves who the “lead” is, based on their needs and prejudices. all the promotions for this film fed those 3 characters to us in equal portions, quite purposefully; it was very smart marketing.
during the film…
Oh my god. Go take a remedial Literature class and come back when you’re done. Also when you’re finished twisting yourself into knots to convince yourself that the black lead isn’t actually a lead because the poster has him in a smaller scale than the villain. Zzzzz.
Oh well then that changes everything that you have said and have defended. Alright everybody we can all go home. Fred Smith thinks Denzel should have won the Oscar that one year so case closed!!!
Boyega takes his mask off earlier than Driver, and you see his face a lot more. More on point, his face is the first thing that you see in the first trailer that was released, and it is actually shown on the promotional images when Driver’s isn’t.
The protagonist is the person you root for. Satan is the “protagonist” of Paradise Lost because you sympathize with his cause, not because he is inherently morally right.
Dude, wut? Kylo is the antagonist. You’re failing basic terminology here. Ridley and Boyega = main protagonists. Driver = main antagonist. Yes, the main antagonist gets to tower over the protagonists.
You were talking about the poster, not the film.
Driver is in a mask. His race is a non-issue. Boyega is clearly the main male lead in the movie.
Look, this all begins and ends with Ridley’s quote on the subject.
I’ve looked at the actual movie. Twice. He’s one of the two main protagonists.
I don’t understand what your point is, either. “Yes, this is shitty, but we all know it’s shitty so we might as well just accept it and not ever talk about it.”
Yeah NOBODY will go see a movie with a black English kid with a Nigerian name as the lead! Psssh!
Amazingly, there are no Anglo Saxons on this map. Wowzers.
I love the argument that we should be past racial whatevers whenever it’s an argument that not all casts need to be all white.
Unless I’m completely misinformed, these images are variations on the Book of Gates depiction of people entering the afterlife and depict the races known to Egyptians at the time. In those images you actually have Egyptians, Nubians, Libyans, and western Asians.
That is a way oversimplification of what’s going on in the story. I’ll admit that I’ve only read the book, but there’s no implication that these are the same person or that they should be similar in any way.
It’s a crying shame the internet is down.
