For some reason a lot of people think that any college debt is worth it. They get really expensive degrees (if they finish at all) and don’t use them, or a much cheaper school would have been just as good. That mentality is the first thing that needs to change.

Good thing it’s the woman’s job.

Someone at Crayola deserves a big raise for coming up with this ridiculous publicity stunt.

Maybe the best comment I’ve read.

The school has no obligation to issue a press release.

It was a Bernie joke, so did it even really have a chance?

*EDIT. Now that I think about it, I might have started with the regular Chase Sapphire card before the preferred. I switched to the Sam’s Mastercard and pay no annual fee.

I absolutely hate these pyramid schemes. I got in trouble at work when I was young for explaining how pyramid schemes worked when a manager was pushing one on other employees.

It’s hard to have a real conversation when you keep making things up. I did not say that everyone in debt has a pointless degree. Read it again.

You are projecting your issues on to everyone else. You are also changing topics. We were speaking about student loans in general. It’s not possible to discuss every individual case. Obviously there are extreme cases.

Scholarships and working your way through school (like I did full time). Most important is college choice. Going to a school that costs 50K a year is just stupid if you doubt have the money. In most cases the name on the diploma means very little. Go to a tech school for the first two years.

No it’s not. There are plenty of ways to go to college without going into debt up to your eyeballs.

College is a good thing but it isn’t an excuse to take out massive amounts of debt. There are plenty of options out there. The only thing worse than owing student loans is owing the IRS.

If people could strictly follow the math, they wouldn’t find themselves in such debt to begin with (barring the more extreme situations).

I have options under Obamacare? You haven’t been to NH.

I was being sarcastic. I don’t need the government making my choices for me. Give me some options and I will choose what’s best for my family.

Canada has like 7 people to take care of.

I hate having options.

The fee it way to high now. It’s not worth it.

It’s a pretty obnoxious article. The guy wants to try to play baseball. I’m not sure why that offends people so much.
